Colours



This week we are going to make a colour wheel like this one.











Then we are going to learn about PRIMARY COLOURS...













... SECONDARY COLOURS...












... and COMPLEMENTARY COLOURS.


When we use paint primary colours are YELLOW, BLUE and RED
You can get any other colour just mixing primary colours.

When you mix two primary colours you get a secondary colour.
So these are the secondary colours:

BLUE + YELLOW = GREEN
BLUE + RED = PURPLE
YELLOW + RED = ORANGE

Now look at the colour wheel.
A colour is opposite its cmplementary.

YELLOW's complementary is PURPLE.
BLUE's complementary is ORANGE.
RED's complementary is GREEN.

There's something funny with complementary colours. They make a strong contrast.
